It has been said, “If your actions inspires others to dream more, learn more, and become more you are a leader.” This is true of Caroline McGrath, not only is she a “true leader” she is also an exceptional human being.
Over the past 20+ years Ms. McGrath has been one of my most valued mentors. She was very instrumental in the launching and development of my career, and has remained a positive motivation in my professional life.
What I admire most is her excellent leadership style as well as her outstanding interpersonal, communication, staff development and motivational skills. These qualities are the core of what makes her stand out from most leaders I know.
Caroline served as Director of Career Services at DeVry Institute of Technology and worked for me as its President for almost 3 years. "DeVry New York" was a complete start-up campus so Caroline had to launch a comprehensive, full-service career services office from scratch. In addition, she needed to develop meaningful partnerships with regional employers who would be interested in hiring our graduates.
She is a very hard working, dedicated, passionate professional who consistently focused her talents on serving our students and our graduates. She served as a valuable and contributing member of the college's executive team, In addition, she was able to develop meaningful relationships with a diverse multitude of community organizations, businesses, industries, and other agencies who were essential to the successful start-up and viability of a new campus in New York City. She has excellent interpersonal communication skills and is a polished and professional presenter. I greatly enjoyed being able to work with Caroline during my time as the first/founding president of DeVry Institute of Technology in New York.
I have been consistently impressed by both Caroline's attitude towards her work and her performance on the job. Her interpersonal and communication skills have allowed her to develop trustful working relationships with all employees and managers. Caroline has the listening and interviewing skills necessary to understand, comfort and coach at all levels.
